The Rudder baseball team proved what a difference a year can make as the Rangers got past Giddings 9-4 Monday at Edible Field on opening day. A season ago, Rudder lost the opener to Giddings 5-4.
Christionna Ellis led the way for Rudder with 16 points followed by Kimora Maxey with 9 and X’aniah Martinez with 8. The Rangers will play the Iowa Colony and Port Arthur Memorial in the Area Round.
