The great horned owl is the most common owl of the Americas, easily recognizable because of the feather tufts on its head. These “plumicorns” resemble horns or, to some, catlike ears.
These great horned owlets were spotted along the Black Lake Walking Path near the Lake Miona Recreation Center. They appear to be approximately three weeks old. Thanks to Richard Feudale for sharing!
