Dec 20, 2008 · The 101 eagle patch was one that was available at the PX. I have been told that Forrest Guth E/506 had one sewn to one of his uniforms at some point during the war. The strange looking eagle is from a trooper named King. At first glance it looks as if it is Japanese made but the back is distincly English.

Aug 18, 2014 · When the 101ST AIRBORNE DIVISION deployed to Europe in for REFORGER '76 I was attending primary school in a Belgian Army Barracks in Germany. Parts of the Division were hosted by my father's unit, the 4TH Belgian Army Cavalry Regiment in Arnsberg, Germany.

In Vietnam, the 101st Airborne Division had Air Mobile in parenthesis after Airborne and later in 1974 pioneered the 1st Air Assault school at Fort Campbell Kentucky.

Jan 2, 2025 · The 101st Airborne Division looks a little odd to me, but that could just be wear and tear. The first Aviation Brigade looks OK for a veteran of service in Vietnam. Not sure what the shoulder cord is since the only authorized one worn in that location is the infantry cord. The Staff Sergeant chevrons look OK.

Dec 17, 2012 · Here's mine- belonged to a Lt. in B/1 327 who served in 71-72. Part of a larger group, the only item I don't have is the embroidered 'Rat Pack" beret he brought home. 101st patch is U.S. made with VN made Ranger and Airborne arcs. Name is local as well.
