Jul 17, 2021 · Sep 5, 2013. #8. We machined a 22" 22-250 with an 8 twist for my DTA. I got 3300 FPS out of an 80 grain Sierra using Superformance and CFE223. We backed it down to 3150 and getting 1/4" groups at 100 yards with the Superformance because I want to use it in comps and need to respect the 3100-3200 FPS speed limit.

NC. May 15, 2020. #13. Like others mentioned, the 22-250 is a barrel burner (< 1,500 rounds) which can happen fast is you hit the range often. Tikka, Bergara, Howa, and Savage all make nice varmint rifles in 22-250 and pre-2007 Remingtons are usually very accurate as well.

Dec 30, 2019 · I would be curious to see how much velocity is lost by a 18” barrel in 22-250 vs something like a 18” 17-223, 17-204, 204 ruger, 22nosler, 22-6.8. I currently walk very far on frozen lakes and through woods shuffling snow in cold weather with a 26” 17remington ar and have been thinking about trying to lighten and shorten that.

You can find loaded ammo for the 22 Creed, but it’s a little pricey and not widely available right now. You may have better luck tracking down 22-250 ammo if you’re only planning on shooting factory ammo.

Mar 10, 2018 · 75 ELDMs at 3380 fps out of my 1:8 twist 22" barrel Tikka T3X. Both accuracy and ES are plenty good for me. Right on the lands appeared to work the best (#1 and #5). As I backed up from the lands .020" increments each one of those loads shot worse and worse. #2 is .020” off, #3 is .040 off, #4 is .060” off.

Jul 12, 2010 · These are my personal opinions and thought's. Took my new Olympic Arms UMAR 22-250 (#88 off the production line) out Friday and Saturday and got a couple coyote's with it. It has been fired about 30-40 rounds and I really think it is a keeper. *Bull barrel standard on the UMAR for the WSSM & OSSM cartridges are 416 SS precision broach-cut barrels.
