Oct 31, 2002 · I have a 1983 CJ7, dana 30 front, AMC 20 rear, 6cyl, T176, and dana 300. Does anyone have a chart, web site, or other information that would educate me on the interchangability of the front and rear axles, and driveline for the CJ7 and other vehicles? I am not a 'rock crawler' but do get off the beaten path in West Virginia mountains.

Nov 11, 2010 · I need help reassembling my rear axle on my 83 cj7, took everything apart to sandblast and paint. Can't find my pictures on how things go back together. I have the axle and bearing and cup installed in the axle housing. I dont know what goes next. Does the brake plate mount directly to the housing then the outer axle seal and then the dust cover.

Oct 3, 2016 · According to my TSM for 1982, and I suspect the '83 is the same: On the 4-cyl engines the starter motor relay (external solenoid) has no internal electrical connection to the bracket. The grounding is done via wire to the backup lamp circuit (man trans) or neutral safety switch (auto trans).

Jan 16, 2020 · Still finishing my frame up on my original owner 83 CJ7. Wanted to get it to a point of being a very close restomod. Everything had been taken off, degreased, blasted, inspected and repainted. Including my radiator. Used a lot of POR15! Started her up, took a drive and saw that my radiator was leaking near the bottom hose connector.
