MGS3 solidified it, but it started in MGS1 when he was the driving force of the villain’s actions despite being (as far as they knew) completely dead and gone, it continued in MGS2 when the 3rd Snake brother Solidus was revealed and was a near perfect visual replica of Big Boss

But yeah the hero worship of Big Boss by players who started with 3 was annoying, especially when mgs4 released, because these same players then took that games story as having confirmed Big Boss had been the hero all along, whilst Solid Snake was technically the bad guy, as we was a pawn of The Patriots and furthered their agenda.

So far I've tried beating her non lethally (CQC and Mk22) but needless to say that doesn't work too well. I've come close to beating her this way but she always got me first.

His "trilogy": Metal Gear Solid 3 Metal Gear: Peace Walker Metal Gear Solid 5 (MG 1 and 2) I am partial to Big Boss's trilogy for the gameplay and for the character arc. MGS3 is one of my lesser-enjoyed Metal Gears though I know it's a fan-favorite.

Big Boss is amazing, but (to lift a phrase from John Wick) Solid Snake is a man of "focus, commitment and sheer f**king will": the true hero of the MGS series and the man who realised Big Boss's potential, despite his recessive genes. Big Boss is the strong favourite against Old Snake, but I still wouldn't rule Solid out.
