It is used in waste lines because it is unaffected by common household chemicals such as drain cleaners, ammonia, bowl cleaners, and cleansers. Plastic Pipe and Fittings Assoc. is a good source of information. Krylon Fusion has been used safely.

Sep 27, 2014 · On a side note. If your Lowes has clear schedule 40 PVC then I am jealous! Do you have fish in the tank? If not then you might be able to add an over flow box. If the white piping in your tank is aesthetically unpleasant. But that would require draining the tank and letting the silicone cure for more than 24hours. Is the pipe outside of the tank?

Fit the small sections of tubing together with the PVC joint and try to connect them to the two ends of the exiting PVC plumbing lines. With the help of PVC coupler joint, tie them in to the existing PVC drain pipe.

While it isnt the best looking thing around, it works great and its cheap to build. All you need is a strip of pvc, a couple of T's, L's, X's, and a valve (optional).

In the photo, you can see there is a 3/4" pvc pipe already placed into the base of the bottle. To do this, you need to use a 1" hole saw.
