The Brandywine Museum of Art is internationally recognized for its unparalleled collection and dedication to presenting Wyeth and American art. Nearly 300 special exhibitions have been shown in the museum's six galleries.

From February–November, the Brandywine Museum of Art offers free admission on the first Sunday of the month. This program is NOT offered in December or January. Free First Sundays at Brandywine are made possible by PECO.

The Museum’s outstanding Brandywine Collection is a cross-section of American art, with a special focus on artistic practice in the Brandywine Valley. Nineteenth- and twentieth-century landscape paintings testify to the beauty that drew well-known artists to the area.

Andrew Wyeth, one of America’s best-known twentieth-century artists, painted many of his most important works of art in his Chadds Ford studio. Given to the Brandywine Museum of Art by the artist’s wife, Betsy James Wyeth, the studio provides visitors with a unique opportunity to experience this very personal space.

The Museum has an international reputation for its unparalleled collection and its dedication to American art with primary emphasis on the art of the Brandywine region, American illustration, still life and landscape painting, and the work of the Wyeth family.

The Brandywine Museum of Art is located on the left side of US Route 1, just past the intersection with Creek Road (formerly known as Route 100) in Chadds Ford. From the New York Area Take the New Jersey Turnpike south to Exit 2, Swedesboro, onto Route 322 west.
