Feb 23, 2024 · For Canon DPP, the best format to export for further editing is 16 bit TIFF. Free software such as gimp can combine several images as layers. Hugin free software has an option to save intermediate files that could be used as layers in gimp.

Nov 7, 2016 · It's a shame, because featurewise, DPP 4 is actually pretty good - a major improvement over DPP 3. But the bottom line is that if the program is unusably slow, the feature set doesn't matter much. Canon's seeming indifference to DPP 4's problems leads me to conclude that they may actually be powerless to do much about them.

Dec 10, 2024 · Unlike some apps, DPP doesn't automatically update itself so get in the habit of either watching Canon announcements or more simply just check for updates periodically from within DPP. I have been using DPP since 2005 and although I have the Adobe creative cloud subscription, the overwhelming majority of what I do is done in DPP. Rodger

Mar 16, 2022 · Since you are using a Mac you may need to go into System Preferences-Security and authorize DPP for disk and/or file access. If you don't see DPP look for UniversalInstaller and grant access to that. I know it works because I have it on my MacBook Air currently w/Monterey. It's been on my MacBook for years through DPP updates and macOS updates.
