The Carillon system is designed to work with the natural structure and function of the heart to help treat the condition of FMR as well as the related symptoms. We believe the Carillon therapy is a smarter solution to help patients feel better and live longer lives.

Our Carillon Mitral Contour System® is a groundbreaking, non-surgical device developed with the goal to safely and effectively treat patients with mitral valve insufficiency. The Carillon therapy is the only indirect, no-touch, mitral valve repair option designed to produce an annuloplasty effect (i.e. cinching of the valve annulus).
How It Works: With this minimally invasive procedure, a small catheter is introduced into the heart through a vein in the right side of the neck (jugular vein). The catheter is guided using standard interventional techniques to a vein that lies adjacent to the mitral valve. Carillon is placed, secured and released in a targeted location.
For Patients: About the EMPOWER Trial - Cardiac Dimensions
The EMPOWER Trial is studying the investigational* Carillon Mitral Contour System ® – a minimally invasive therapy designed to treat people with heart failure and any amount of functional mitral regurgitation (commonly known as FMR – a form of mitral valve leakage).
The Cardiac Dimensions CARILLON Mitral Contour System (CMCS) is a medical device and consists of the following components: A proprietary implant intended for permanent placement in the coronary sinus (CS)/great cardiac vein (GCV)

The Carillon therapy is the only indirect, no-touch mitral valve repair option designed to produce an annuloplasty effect while initiating left ventricular remodeling and improving long-term survival for patients.
Indirect Mitral Annuloplasty Using the Carillon Device
The Carillon device utilizes the relationship of the coronary sinus and the mitral annulus to affect an “indirect” annuloplasty. Early series’ and recent randomized trials suggest echocardiographic and clinical benefit with a relatively straight-forward implantation technique and low rate of significant complications.”

The Carillon Mitral Contour System® is a minimally invasive treatment option, uniquely designed to treat FMR. The Carillon system is placed using a non-surgical, catheter-based technique in a vein on the outside of the heart which is next to the mitral valve.

Percutaneous mitral annuloplasty with the Carillon device reduces MR in patients with both proportionate and disproportionate FMR, and also results in LV reverse remodeling in those with proportionate FMR.
