Is Cerner a Garbage EMR? | Student Doctor Network
Oct 22, 2016 · Epic is a terrible emr. Most med students encounter it as their first emr and therefore they think it's awesome as med students are wont to believe they know everything about something after they experience it for the first time. Cerner is better. The best emr ever made is CPRS. Fast simple efficient. None of the bloat bs the plagues epic.
Sweet Cerner Tricks. | Student Doctor Network
Jun 5, 2016 · I don't hate Cerner at present; but it does make processes that should be either automatic or "one-step" into 3-4 different processes. That, and looking at it is like reading a Chinese newspaper. Everything is small, symbolic, difficult to discern, and jammed-in as close as can possibly be.
Which EMR do you guys like better? Epic or Cerner?
Jan 18, 2014 · There’s workarounds with Cerner, I’ve had 3-5 instances for Pharmnet up when I used it...unless local IT completely locked it down. Cerner has dot phrases in my local implementation. I’ve used both, Epic is more clinically comprehensive but Cerner is faster from a rite production standpoint IMO.
Self directed EMR learning for Cerner? | Student Doctor Network
Aug 6, 2013 · Going forward, I took up a main job that has EPIC (Phew!). However there are couple moonlighting jobs I will be doing that have Cerner for their EMR. From what I have seen so far, it is not bad at all, but once again the EMR training staff is terribe. My orientation was only 1.5 hours long, and I left there feeling less than completely confident.

Mar 7, 2019 · Cerner technically offers some certification courses but they are ill-defined and completely optional. Epic is like a novel. Jan 2, 2014 · I do like epic more than Cerner. Copy forward is an amazing thing. Our version of Cerner has it but it's clunky, and copy/paste/edit is more efficient. Placing and looking up orders in epic is eons better than doing so in Cerner. I find med recs easier in epic as well. But I'm stuck with Cerner and it's quite workable now that I'm getting used ...
Anyone use Allscripts EMR in the hospital? - Student Doctor …
Jul 9, 2007 · Two of them, Cerner was complete trash. The third (my university hospital) has the newest version of Cerner with Epic-like smart phrases and smart templates (don’t have to use garbage Powernote) and a workflow feature that none of the other two hospitals had, and it is much, much more bearable.
Epic EMR what are your thoughts medical students?
Oct 17, 2019 · EPIC is 1000x better than pretty much any other EMR I've touched. I've had meditech, cerner, allscripts, whatever the trash was at the VA, and athena. On interviews now, and programs will mention if they have EPIC because incoming students like it better pretty much across the board.
Why is the VA (Veterans Affairs) Switching to CERNER?
Mar 19, 2011 · Why is the VA switching the CERNER? They're switching from the best EHR I've ever used (VISTA) to the worse EHR I've ever used (CERNER) and I've heard they're paying 4.4 billion for it. A recent Medscape survey of physicians seems to agree that VISTA is much better, so why are they doing this?
