It's inspired by an old flag of the New England region, which Connecticut is of course an integral part of, but with the cross changed from red to blue. This is done to differentiate it from the New England flag, and to call back to the blue of the current Connecticut flag.

Apr 5, 2022 · Make the side stripes white. The purple/grape imagery is nigh irrelevant to Connecticut. White and Blue would be far cleaner. I assume you've used 13 stars for 13 colonies. Consider 8 stars for the 8 counties in the state instead. This feels squished, like you couldn't fit the circle, tree, and Tricolor/Pale in one flag.

Apr 10, 2016 · Wanted to keep the grape while giving it a new look. The purple strip represents the state motto (Qui Transtulit Sustinet; "He who transplanted still sustains"), the white field represents prosperity and the green strips represent the rivers Connecticut and Housatonic.
