Oct 30, 2007 · I've got a '70 Ski Doo Olympique 12/3 thats fantastic in deep snow. The Elan is a similar sled. The advantage with them is the center engine configuration that makes the front of the sled light so it'll float a little better in deep snow. Riding in deeps now takes leg muscles though, its all about shifting your weight.

Jan 10, 2008 · Im with the Elanor vote... good sleds for deep snow.... my uncle has a ski doo everst withte 16" wide track thig also just floats on the snow.... i like the 1973 charger ss 530.... those sleds are a font engine sled but they have the power to take it anywere u want to.

Jan 9, 2010 · True that, but notice that he is in NY, sure some areas get a lot of snow. but not like you are experiencing there. You would be surprised at how well mine performs in deep snow. Steep attack angle, 1" lugs, track set down for penetration, clutched to engage at 3400, and geared for a top speed of 90 now.

Dec 22, 2011 · A 136" touring would be fine in that much snow, but I'd change the track ... most touring sleds come stock with 3/4" paddles. You'd want 1" to 1.25" for bopping around off trail. My 2000 Panther (with the 136x15x3/4") would get stuck pretty easily in only a couple feet of snow.
