Automotive battery management system (BMS ... - Infineon …
Enable faster time-to-market with complete automotive battery management system (BMS) chipset. Infineon's automotive BMS platform covers 12 V to 24 V, 48 V to 72 V, and high-voltage applications, including 400 V, 800 V, and 1200 V battery systems.
Today’s vehicles with a main HV battery and a separate 12 V battery usually include these functions: ‒ DC fast charging – the conversion from alternating current to direct current takes place outside the vehicle.

Electric vehicle (EV) drivetrain system - Infineon Technologies
The On-board charger (OBC) is the device in the car which re-charges the high-voltage battery in a plug-in vehicle (PHEV) or battery-powered electrical car (EV) directly from the grid while the car is parked and connected to a charging station/pile.
The most important system-level blocks of a powertrain system in an electric vehicle (EV) are the electric motor itself, the traction inverter drive, the DC/DC converter, the high-voltage battery and the on-board charger
The scope is the electrical and/or electronic (E/E) system of a traction inverter. The E/E system is supplied by the LV battery and by the HV battery. The three-phase output (phase U, V and W) of the traction inverter is connected to the electric motor. An external control unit sends commands to the E/E system and receives its responses.
On-board charging (OBC) for electric vehicles
The EV on-board charger (OBC) recharges the high-voltage (HV) main battery from AC grids while the car is parked. Longer driving ranges of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV) and battery electric vehicles (BEV) are achieved by increasing the battery capacities and energy efficiencies of electric components.
Automotive 48 V battery management system (BMS)
Used for energy storage and supply to electrical systems in electric 2- and-3- wheelers and mild hybrid electric vehicles (MHEVs), an automotive 48 V battery management system (BMS) is in charge of computation, communication, monitoring, and protection.
