Jan 16, 2008 · A nice quality Hetian river pebble costs a fortune, from US$30 a gram and up. I have seen many average sized white Hetian river jade pebbles selling for US 2,000 or more in China. If this piece is indeed is Hetian jade and it is white, then if it just weighs about 20 gram, just material alone will be worth US$600.

Mar 23, 2010 · It is too translucent to be native Hetian jade, -No, it is not. Hetian jade even have transparency jade look very similar to agate. And Han jades were not all made from Hetain jade. where is that whitish specks that looks like rice porridge in the material . -That area is possible from lime stone layer of earth from the burial ground.

Sep 18, 2018 · Due to the difficulty in obtaining quality jade material such as Hetian nephrite jade at ancient time and even today (the only known nephrite mine closer to China is XinJiang which is far away from the Chinese capitals), very often quality jade materials would only be reserved for the most skilled jade carvers to make master pieces.

Jan 25, 2018 · Mutton-Fat Jade is the best quality of Hetian-White-Nephrite. The jade exposed by you is sort of yellowish/greenish and not Hetian and probably not nephrite. Please make the scratch test. The carving on the jade is executed very badly, irregulary and modern. I believe the jade would have more value without the bad carving on it. Just my opinion ...

Jun 3, 2014 · Same may happen with Hetian nephrite jade soon, with so many people went and hunted for Hetian jade, it will soon exhaust, just like any natural resource in earth, this is sad but true. Once you can buy average quality jadeite pretty cheap, now it has become much more expensive to find any at decent prices.

Mar 17, 2010 · The interesting thing is most white hetian jade carvings from the past 10 years are better in quality comparing to many 18th century antique jades. I have a lot of pictures and I may do a separate thread about modern jade craving when I have time.
