The Indu-Brasil or Indo-Brazilian is a Brazilian breed of zebuine beef cattle. It was bred in the early twentieth century in the Triângulo Mineiro in the western part of Minas Gerais state, and particularly in the area surrounding Uberaba. It was originally known as the Induberaba.

At Butler Farms we have imported Indu-Brazilian cattle in an effort to provide the American Cattle market with choices. Our Indu-Brazilian cattle come from Championship bloodlines and are tremendous examples of the Indu-Brasil breed of cattle.

Indo-Brazilian cattle are a zebu type breed known for their contribution to the development of Brahman cattle and their extremely large, pendulous ears.

The Indo-Brazilian, also known as Indubrasil, is a Zebu (Bos indicus) cattle breed developed in Brazil between 1910 and 1930. This breed was created through selective breeding of Gir, Kankrej, and Ongole cattle , all of which were imported from India .

However, the Rural Society of the Triângulo Mineiro, meeting in 1938, to establish the breed standard, decided to adopt the name of Indubrasil for this cattle type. There were some obstacles to identify Indubrasil as a breed.

Indu-Brazilian zebus were developed in Brazil by cross-breeding 3 different breeds of cattle from India. An adult male reaches over 6 feet tall, and weighs around 2,500 pounds. They can be red, black, gray, white, or even speckled in color.
