CHICAGO, January 22, 2019 – JBT Corporation (NYSE: JBT), today announced it has signed an agreement to acquire LEKTRO, Inc. (“LEKTRO”), a privately-held manufacturer of electric aviation ground support equipment based in Warrenton, Oregon, with the transaction expected to close during the first quarter of 2019.

LEKTRO® 87 tow tractors are designed to tow aircraft with a MTOW up to 85,000 lbs (38,555 kg), making them ideal for pushbacks and towing of turboprop aircraft and most long-range business jets.

Oshkosh AeroTech, which bought LEKTRO owner JBT AeroTech in 2023, produces 28 tugs per month at its Warrenton facility. The company employs 108 people in Oregon. The towbarless design used by LEKTRO tugs is easier on aircraft landing gear.
