The Lilin, also referred to as the 18th Angel or Angel of Humanity in the Evangelion series, are descendants of Lilith, a 'seed of life' spread by the 'First Ancestral Race'. Lilith landed on Earth after Adam, spreading the primordial ooze, LCL, which evolved into the Lilin over billions of years.

Mar 9, 2019 · There’s no real concrete evidence for why but I think that it’s because while Kaworu refers to humanity as “lilin” almost like an insult, he doesn’t want to kill all of them, which is what would happen if Lilith and Adam DNA interacted.
