I also saw some reports over the weekend of BST AXN Beetlejuice and Gizmo at Burlington. I really want to see Lydia released, and I’ll buy it if it does come out, but I’m not expecting it anymore.

Beetlejuice himself mentions it’s like a “green card” thing multiple times & seems to only want to experience life to cause even more chaos. Creepy Old Guy is just Lydia & everyone else’s plan to make sure Beetlejuice is convinced she changed her mind about marriage.

So we can see that the dynamic has changed they are no longer the enemy in this movie after the events of the first movie.

She corrects Adam that Delia is her step mother but she never challenges Charles when he calls Delia her mother (perhaps bc it is still painful). If Charles and Lydia’s mother are divorced, it would be odd that Charles uprooted Lydia without protest.
