Apr 3, 2019 · The stock military tires are not good on wet roads. They act like bald tires. You will want a set of radials. I like my Goodyear G177’s. They are 11.00x20. They can usually be found for $150-200 a piece barely used on 5 ton rims.

Oct 13, 2012 · Larger sized tires than the 9.00x20. Keep the trailering aspect of the beast. Ease (relative) of changing tires by myself on the side of the road. Availability of spares, not only around homebase but on the road as well. The truck would be used as a travel vehicle, not just around town, possibly towing a fully loaded M105.

Jun 4, 2013 · With the 11.00x20 ndt's it is a direct swap on tires with the exception of needing the larger tubes. If you go with the Goodyear g177 11.00x20's they may rub the rear trunnion bolts a little bit. I prefer the 395/85/20 super singles.

Nov 6, 2022 · 2. Either size are MPT-type tires which require special MPT rims. Your stock M35A2 wheels are NOT compatible for those. 3. If you want aggressive, more "modern" tires that will outlast your truck (& trailer) - and keep your stock wheels, go for something like the Goodyear G177 (either 10.00R20 or 11.00R20)

Jan 10, 2011 · I think that 49" tires would rub the frame on the front when you turn and you may have clearance problems on back, too. I know from personal experience that you can use 395 (46") tires on a stock rim with no clearance issues on front and only minor issues on back.

Dec 4, 2021 · Don't know about the tires but 3010-00-740-9623 ADAPTER, GEAR RATIO will get 395's on my '66 M35A2 real accurate on the speedometer like 2 or 3mph at 60. That's all I have for you.... Reactions: bprzyw

Jun 14, 2006 · We took 12 brand new M35A2's and 12 driver/co-driver teams and laid out a course of rough terrain testing more than 30 miles long. All the trucks required modification of the hubs, which if I recall correctly involved pressing in new lug studs, and moving the brake drums to the other side of the hub flange.

Jun 27, 2022 · The tires still have a lot of tread on them, but the sidewalls are showing some fine cracking. I need to get them on the dirt and wear em out real quick this summer if I can. I have a full set of A3 bead lock rims now though, and am looking to put as good of tires as I can on them. Such a hard decision between 365/80R20 and the 395's.
