For data activity monitoring, the S-TAP monitors activity between the client and the database and forwards that information to the Guardium collector.

Is there a way non-Exadata administrators can query v$/x$ tables to tell whether the database is running on Exadata database or not? I understand that the database version is 11.2.0.x and nothing much has changed as far as the core Oracle database binaries.

Jul 9, 2019 · The last ship date for some models of the Exadata Database Machine appears to have changed recently, potentially impacting the end-of-life date for Exadata hardware. For example, in April 2019, the document (HW_LSP_chart_Apr_2019_LSD.pdf) listed the last ship date for Exadata Database Machine X5-2 as Feb 2017.

Pg. 120 - "On Exadata, the Oracle ASM external redundancy is not supported. On non-Exadata storage environments, many clients elect external redundancy and rely on host-based or array-based RAID to provide data protection. With Exadata the storage servers do not provide RAID protection; data is protected solely with Oracle ASM redundancy.

Nov 29, 2016 · i need to apply Quarterly Full Stack Download Patch (QFSDP) on Exadata quarter rack with VM. i have downloaded the patch July 2016. i have read the readme and Exadata maintenance guide but didnt find any description on how to apply patch on Exadata with VM. Pls help to provide the Doc ID or white paper on apply patch on Exadata with VM.
