Aug 15, 2005 · While it's not on the ProLink website, the Scancat Lite Plus site does say that the 2018 is the mobile version of the 82. Taking into account many GRE portables have the same protocols as their GRE mobile versions, I'd be willing to bet that, if true, it will work - to what degree is uncertain - with the 2018.

Jul 5, 2007 · The Pro-82 also has a service search. Press the orange button, for Police/Fire and let it search. it's probably going to lock up on some data transmissions, but when you find a frequency that has voice, write it down.

May 8, 2010 · I.E. - I suspect the wrong AC power adapter was used (like 12VDC when 9VDC is the maximum) and therefore, the scanner is destroyed. There's a pretty nice looking PRO-82 on eBay for $28 total. That's what I would do. (And in my "longer than I care to mention" history of owning scanners, I did have a PRO-82. A very nice handheld).

Jul 9, 2009 · The Pro-82 manual specifies the Programming Kit Cat no. 20-048 That kit contains software and a cable that has a stereo connector. The cable as sold separate from the Kit was Cat no. 20-049.I have one. It has a stereo connector and the back of the package says it is for the Pro-82 (and several other scanners).

Nov 8, 2012 · I am new to the scanner world. I bought a Radioshack Pro-82 scanner on ebay. It has been working fine for the past week and then suddenly yesterday it stuck on one channel and was static. I adjusted the squelch and reset the scanner. This morning it is scanning fine again however I am not picking up any transmissions like I used to. Any ideas?

Jan 9, 2011 · What happened to your other battery holder? My Pro82 came with two holders. The yellow one makes contact with the charging terminal, but is otherwise identical to the black one.
