Mar 13, 2016 · I was waxing my rods today and wondered how many of you do this. I use meguairs car wax on the rod, and especially on the eyes to cut down on line friction and to make the rod look shiny and new. Been doing this for a long time and it works well. Just curious.

Dec 16, 2011 · After a SW fishing trip, I hit my rods with a "spray wash and wax" that you can find at any Autobacs. I have used Turtle Wax, and several other brands....all work equally well. Straight wax is ok too, but the wash and wax variety will "de salt" your rod as well. I do the whole rod...EVA, reel seat, blank and guides...it will hurt not.

Dec 31, 2022 · Deploying two rods so the don't tangle. I run the boat and deploy the buoy rod from the starboard side. My buddy fishes the down rod and works from the port side. Lets say the drift is due south, with the boat in gear at idle, I run a course about 45 degrees less than due south while I let out the first 200'.

Dec 21, 2019 · CPxtra works pretty good at restoring that shine without a lot of effort.Somebody has a Youtube video of how to apply it.Can't remember who.Flex coat works to if you know how to use it properly.

Jun 13, 2022 · I have a new rod with cork handles. After seeing some rods with crumbled and/or dirty cork grips, I'm wondering about preserving the handles on mine. I imagine leaving them bare causes breakdown, discoloration, or fish scent to "stain" the cork. (Especially pike slime) U40 seems very popular.

Jun 15, 2014 · I fish a Curado 300EJ on my 8' Terez waxwing rod. Took it to Cedros a few weeks ago and caught tons of calicos on 7-9" plastics and a ton of small yellowtail on waxwings on it. Love it.
