Dec 21, 2016 · The answer was that the SC-48 charger used with the Ryobi 48 volt mowers performs a desulfation procedure during the finishing phase of a charge cycle. So every time the charger does any sort of charge cycle, it is reducing the chances of the batteries forming sulfates on the internal grids.

May 18, 2022 · It's a Delta Q SC-48 charger. It's supposedly custom set up to Ryobi's specs., but they are also used for golf carts. There were different Ryobi p/ns based on the mower's manufacturer number listed on the label under the seat. If you find a source, make sure the p/n matches the one on your original charger.

Dec 21, 2016 · Actually, Delta Q SC-48 smart charger used in these Ryobi systems puts out much more than 48 volts. I have measured over 54 pack volts after charging my RM480e. My neighbor measured just over 61 pack volts on his RM480ex this week when he installed a new LPC12-100 battery to replace one that was failing a load test.

Feb 20, 2017 · Another brand of charger, a car jumper pack or a Battery Tender, or similar, if you have one, may send enough amperage to the battery to revive it. Then you can charge it as normal on the Ryobi charger. Could be as simple as the charger just being finicky with that particular battery.
