  1. You can graph a line on a scatter plot to help show a relationship in the data. This line, called a trend line, helps show the correlation between data sets more clearly. It can also be helpful when making predictions based on the data.

    The line passing through the points is naming a trend line which shows the correlation of variables. A trend line is an equation that shows the relationship between measures. Such that it is the best fit for the data. They indicate how strong or weak the relationship is and if any outliers are affecting the trend line.
