Jan 10, 2020 · I have a 2016 Scion Ia and I am trying to install apple car play, I have see and read that I would need to use mazda software v 70.0 but I am not getting anywhere I keeping getting install unsuccessful. on the oem version it says fail safe not available.

What I did to install CarPlay on my iA was I bought an infotainment computer off of a newer 2020 Toyota Yaris as they had CarPlay from the factory (won’t loose the blue UI color) and bought a wireless CarPlay retrofit kit off Amazon that replaced the USB port hub in the center console.

Jan 25, 2025 · Hey everyone, I noticed an older thread that talked about installing CarPlay in a 2016 Scion iA. I understand that I need to change the USB port after updating the software but I’m confused on where to find the software so I can update it. Any advice would be great!

Oct 18, 2015 · I tried out the OEM armrest in a Mazda CX-3, which is the crossover Mazda 2 / Scion iA so I assume it'd be the same one in our cars. This is just my impression but I wasn't impressed. It was kinda hard, and sat too far back to be comfortable (I'm 5'11, 160 lbs). When folded down for use, it covers up the cup holders.

Nov 10, 2024 · I have a 2016 Scion iA which I love, but I’m having a mechanical problem. While driving, all of the console lights for the braking system flash on and then back off again. The check engine light comes on sometimes, but then is not lit the next time I start the car, and the speedometer suddenly dips down and then comes back up to speed again.

Mar 1, 2023 · I am trying to add car play to my 2016 IA has anybody else done this here? I updated my software to the newest software available from Mazda. (Unfortunately I did loose the blue color scheme that’s only available for the Scion IA. My radio is working flawlessly. Even fixed the dreaded boot loops that we all know and love.
