Apr 20, 2020 · When I capture a snip using Win+Shift+S, a notification pops up and clicking on that opens the editor - but if notifications is turned off, it just files the snip away in the clipboard silently - I guess that is intended behaviour. There is a specific 'snip & sketch' notification.

Mar 4, 2019 · The old Snipping Tool was superseded by the rather nice Snip tool (from Microsoft's backroom Garage) that was then replaced by Snip & Sketch, I believe. I still like the experimental Snip tool because it auto-saved multiple snips in its own library ..but it's now gone. As far as I can tell, Snip & Sketch handles one snip at a time.

Mar 11, 2020 · When I follow that link inside the old snipping tool, all is good (as it is if I follow the shortcut on the start menu). I can snip a selection and it automatically goes into edit-the-snip mode where you can annotate it or crop it and have the option to save what you snipped.
