Jul 3, 2015 · As a recovering 'bad sonic fan' I can shed light on the real reason. Sonic as a franchise is targeted at boys in the tweenage demographic. This is the point where a lot of boys either succeed at transitioning into young adulthood or fail. The ones that fail will get stuck in a phase of boy-manhood (also known as a manchild).

Aug 25, 2015 · SonicRetro is the only part of the fandom I need, those guys rock. I mean, sure they can be grumpy, but they make damn fine fanprojects, hacks, and whatnot. If it wasn't for folks like Taxman and Stealth, we likely wouldn't even have the awesome Sonic mobile ports (Sonic CD, Sonic 2, Sonic 1) along with a remade Hidden Palace after nearly 20 years.

As a hardcore Sonic fan of, what, 15 years now, I unfortunately came to the realization after a few years that Sonic just isn't that perfect franchise I once thought it was.
