Aug 31, 2022 · As mentioned in another part of this thread, don't confuse backup codes with the reset code. You generate 30 backup codes, they are one time use as Steam Guard replacement i.e. for logging in. You can generate another 30 at any time which invalidates all the earlier 30.

Jul 24, 2015 · The Rxxxxx code is only used if you want to reset your Steam Guard from Mobile Authenticator to e-mail, if you somehow lost access to your Mobile Authenticator. If you haven't saved your recovery code and still have access to your Mobile Authenticator, then you can switch back to e-mail and then restart the Mobile Authenticator configuration.

Whatever, log back in. Oh wait - Steam Guard requires authenticor code. But my authenticator hasn't been used in so long IT has logged me out... So the authenticator requires an SMS code to verify the authenticator, and ignoring this altogether requires an SMS code also.

Tried whitelisting the steam support adress but still nothing. It's been hours. Can't use my phone number as it's an old one and changing it takes (you guessed it) a code via E-Mail.
