Jun 28, 2013 · Regarding the Tartan 33 (1979-1984), I'm considering this boat for purchase and would be interested in hearing opinions and impressions from current and/or past owners. In particular, sailing characteristics at different points of sail, potential speed, and problems to be aware of in a 30 year old boat in addition to the normal balsa core issues.

Oct 17, 2003 · Interior is a matter of personal taste. Tartan introduced the Tartan 34-2 in the mid-1980s. This boat is essentially the same hull as the Tartan 33/33R, and the rig of the 33R, but with a completely different interior. The 33 has a very short settee on the port side, with a large icebox taking up much of the room.

Tartan 33 or Pearson 323? - SailNet Community
Feb 2, 2011 · I have owned a Tartan 33, shoal draft Fract rig, and its was a great sailing boat thats easy to handle. Even in 30 knots with a reef main and jib it felt stable and solid. Also its pretty fast in light air. When we bought ours the deck was soft and needed repair. Bottom was also an issue. However all boats that age may have these problems.

Buying a Tartan T33 - SailNet Community
Oct 9, 2022 · I don't have an excuse to walk around on other people's boat very often, but last night I needed to raft-up to a Tartan 33. In walking from my Valiant 32 to the Tartan 33 I could feel the decks were more flexy than on the T33 than on the V32. Not really a dig on the T33, just a coincidence I was on one a few ours ago.
Any reviews of the Cal 33-2? - SailNet Community
Jul 17, 2008 · Cal 33-2 I own a Cal 34, big brother to the boat to the model you asked about. I can tell you that Cal's are legendary sailboats, built to last. The 34 sails fast enough to beat most boats her LOA today. My hull is solid glass, cored deck and solid cabin top. The hardware was some of the best available when the boat was built 31 years ago.
