Knurl cutting is the process of r emoving enough material from the workpiece to actually reduce the diameter. This approach is most ideal for medium to large machining projects that require ...
Knurl Types : what's the difference?? - Practical Machinist
Aug 20, 2006 · Straight, sharp-edged are what I use for "cut knurl" applications when straight knurls are held at an angle to create a diamond knurl, or for straight infeed "bump" knurling. Sometimes I use bevel-edge knurls for infeed knurling if I need smooth transitions and cannot recut the turned areas on either end of the knurled area.

Jun 23, 2009 · The opposing wheel types get around this, but of course they still rely on simply forcing the pattern into the surface. I'm sure I have used a type that tends to 'slice' rather than indent. From memory it had adjustable wheel angels which I think allowed some adjustment to suit the diameter of the work - rather than having to make the diameter ...
"Rope Knurling"- How were the knurling wheels made
