Should I buy a 1989 Yamaha XT350??? - Adventure Rider
Mar 16, 2004 · XT's are a very reliable decent bike. I rode one for 6 years and did very little in the way of maint. It just kept trucking along. Downhill in a windstorm she'll do 85, but the snap is lacking. The platform hasn't really been modified in 15 years (mine was a 90') and as such, don't have a lot of power, or suspension relative to their competition.
Setting XT350 Timing - Adventure Rider
Jun 12, 2012 · I have the factory service manual, but it's pretty useless. Before I go and drop $30 on a Clymer manual I was hoping someone could help me on here....
Yamaha XT350/TT350- Where Should It Go? - Adventure Rider
Nov 8, 2013 · Looking more closely I think you're right. Probably a TT350 motor plopped in an XT frame with the XT electrical system and the rest of the stuff shoehorned in. The whole rear setup (shock and airbox) looks very TT to me but I'll have to check it in person to know the whole story.
electric start for Yamaha XT 350? - Adventure Rider
Nov 25, 2009 · Bought my wife an XT 350 as her first street legal bike... She took her road test on it. She could never start it and I had to start it for her. One day it kicked back so bad that it broke the fiberglass shank in my work boot. I thought it broke something in my arch until I took the boot off and felt inside of it. To answer your question NO...
1986 XT 350 Advice. - Adventure Rider
Apr 16, 2006 · But the red Yamaha was right there with him. The DR and my XT feel close and on the highway and except for the suspension being tighter on his DR, they felt pretty close in the dirt on fire roads and general trail. I did not look to see the price of the 350 you are looking at, but if it is resonable, buy it.
Yamaha XT350: Valve Clearance Adjustment Question
Apr 8, 2015 · The motorcycle in question is a mostly stock 1995 Yamaha XT350 with about 10,000 miles on the odometer (odo quit working recently). I checked my valve clearances on my motorcycle today and they were, as follows, rounded to the largest feeler gauge tip that would fit in the opening: EXHAUST.003", .004" INTAKE.003", .004"
xt350 vs. dr350 - Adventure Rider
Jul 8, 2004 · I agree with Yater, the dr350 is a better bike. The xt350 had a very soft suspension and a tendency to have its frame bend in fairly low speed crashes (the frame on mine got tweaked following a minor spill).
xt350 good or bad? - Adventure Rider
May 24, 2006 · would a 2000 xt350 be a good bike to do some serious traveling on in third world countries? From what I have gathered, it has a weak frame, soft suspension, bad generator because it puts out 28v, and the support from yamaha on these isnt all that great. Anyone care to comment on these remarks ive found? Are they true or untrue?
Value of 1989 XT350? - Adventure Rider
Dec 11, 2010 · As you might can tell, I'm trying to find the value of a 1989 Yamaha XT 350 that I'm thinking about selling. The bike has less than 5,000 miles on it and is in great shape cosmetically. All original, all lights work, etc. It needs new tires/battery and I'm suspecting the need to rebuild/clean the carb (hasn't been ran in a couple of years).
