Now known as Tampa’s National Historic Landmark District, Ybor City in the 1880s was a melting pot of immigrants from Spain, Cuba, Germany and Italy and home to some of the world’s most famous cigar factories.

Tampa’s National Historic Landmark District. The former archway lights, installed in 1990, were intended to span 7th Avenue temporarily in celebration of Ybor City’s 100th birthday.

It sits within the historic building located at 1521 E 7th Avenue, which also harbors Ybor’s beloved artists loft’s and will be the home of the much-awaited Cheeseology. Newly completed improvements to the building’s façade shine a light on the power of historic preservation and public investment.

The new team bolstered the former Ybor Environmental Services (Y.E.S.) Team by providing more resources and enhanced services in the district. “In our most recent Ybor City Resident and Worker Study, the community expressed a need to elevate the importance of safety, and cleanliness in the historic district,” said Ybor City CRA Manager Courtney

Tie the Knot Ybor On July 24, 2022, from 12 to 5 p.m. jump on a trolley to experience six historic wedding venues set up to get the full wedding experience. Participating venues include: Centro Asturiano, the Cuban Club, Hotel Haya, the Italian Club, J.C. Newman Cigar Co., and Ybor City Museum.
