My boys race mx and we have several of both (85s -100s) My one son was always completely convinced his 85 (with pipe/reeds and proper jetting) was MUCH faster than his completely stock 05 100.

Dec 27, 2005 · I have a 2007 kx 85 and the only aftermarket part is a pro circuit 304 (not shorty). It really added a ton of bottom end power. It accelerates a lot faster than stock. I want to get a header for it also so I hope it will make it faster.

Apr 4, 2007 · Yes, my bike is a new 04 got it left over. I used Mobil 1 synthetic every time so far. The Owners manual suggests a range of oils between 10-30, 10-40, 10-50, and 20-50..... 10-30 is used when the weather temps are 14 degrees to 86 degrees.

Jan 16, 2010 · no i had the same problem try to get a new sparkplug boot where you stick the tip of the plug in and if that doesnt fix it then you need a new electrode wire that goes to your cdi box its like 39.99 and that should fix it and if that doesnt then you need a new cdibox and thats 539.99 the cheapest ive seen for a kx 85

May 29, 2009 · Hey, I have a kx 85 big wheel and I'm having trouble finding out what year it is. I think it is a 1980. Vin number is JKBKXFB025A012267 It's hard to tell if it's a F or an E and if it's a B or a 3. It's had the clutch cable rubbing on it and it's a bit rusted. Thanks

Nov 14, 2015 · We've never had a KX, but the YZ is a great bike, especially for a kid just entering the 85 class. Most of the wear items like brake pads, bearings, top end, etc.. are high quality stuff.
