klx 250 thoughts? - KLR/KLX 125/140/230/250/300 - ThumperTalk
May 24, 2016 · the motors for the klx 250's are known for being reliable, but low on power (i geared mine down for a stronger 2nd gear and a usable 3rd), while good trailbikes they are not good for long road trips, but it's fine for city driving and short commutes, the bike does have a (iirc 6th) overdrive gear, and my highest registered speed was 130kph ...
The Complete KLX250/KLX300 Long Term Review Thread
Dec 2, 2005 · Measured at the rear whell the Team Kawasaki KLX's crank out 34 horsepower. To put that figure in perspective, out of the box a KLX250 produces and uninspiring 18hp. Take a look at the devlopment that nearly doubled the KLX's power output. â ¢ The stock piston was discarded in favour of a high compression Wiseco piston.
IMS Larger Fuel Tank KLX 250/300 Dual Sports - ThumperTalk
Mar 28, 2021 · Re posting this from the KLX300 discussion on another site: Since the 250 and 300 seem to share everything this could be an option for anyone looking for more range on your KLX. By no means am I 100% sure that the tank, if made, would fit both models but just based on the fitment of other after market things I would be inclined to think that a ...
KLX250 vs KLX300? What are the main, practical differences?
May 11, 2022 · If it's the offroad version you're talking about, the suspension is better than the 250, which was lowered for the 09 year. The CRF is typical Honda, as mediocre as it gets, and the KLX is a better bike in every way Edited May 12, 2022 by shrubitdown
Preparing the KLX250 for a long trip - Adventure Rider
Dec 3, 2009 · I actually consider the KLR250 to be superior to the KLX in most regards. The KLX is a better dirt bike, but the KLR is a better all around dual sport, I'd probably buy one if they still made them. I am not familiar with the KLX except what I have read. The limited fuel capacity would be my biggest worry. I have a Clarke 4 gallon tank on my XT225.
KLX 250 Starting Problems - Kawasaki Forums
Apr 3, 2012 · KLX 250S - KLX 250 Starting Problems - My '06 KLX with approx. 1200 miles , ( i just acquired) seems hard to start if it sits up for several days. . I can drain the carburetor float bowl ( about a tablespoon) and it will start right up. After that it will start with no problems, not having to choke or or drain again....
What's the difference between the KLR250, KLX250R, and KLX250S?
May 11, 2008 · IMHO - the KLX is better on the street than the DRZ because of one thing - the wide ratio 6 speed. Even geared down a tooth on the front mine will cruise a true 65 mph (GPS indicated) no problem. The 5 speed on the DRZ sucks. Can be geared for street or dirt not both.
KLX230 vs XT250 - Adventure Rider
Nov 28, 2020 · So, while I like both bikes, the suspension and the engine is way better on the KLX. If I had one now, the XT would need fork work (gold valves) and a rear shock, plus better tires and a seat kit. The KLX needed better tires for the dirt (sand) around here and a seat kit. The KLX would still be more fun because of that crazy throttle response.
What big bore kit for KLX 250S? - Adventure Rider
Dec 4, 2006 · I suspect that the older KLX250R engine has several differences with the newer 250/300 motor, even though the overall engine design is the same. The older KLX250R also has a slightly different coolant amount than the '06 and later 250's. Also remember that the KLX250 has a fan, and the 300 doesn't.
2020 KLX250 vs new KLX300. - Adventure Rider
Nov 7, 2013 · There is, however, a like new with 780 miles KLX250 near me. If the price were right would that be as good a buy as a new 300? What would be considered a good price? Would I regret not getting a 300 vs a 250/230? I'm about 6' and about 225 naked. Bike would be used on dirt roads and street. No real technical riding.
