Unist and guilty gear only have you control 1 character so you will only have 1, more in-depth moveset to worry about as opposed to every character on your team. Which game you start with is all preference. Pick a single character (or team for team based games) and stick to them until you understand the basics of the game.

UNIST has had a long enough time to grow as this cult darling within the FGC for this to make sense. Releasing a followup now is a smart move get new people onboard with a fresh experience that everyone can learn on day one while wiping off the "dead game" reputation it previously had, similar to how Melty revived its series and made it something more than that.

How easy is it as a PC player to find a game? I heard that they decided not to implement cross play (which seems like a dumb decision) and don't want to spend that kind of money on a game that I won't/can't play Most of the game play I've seen is basically 1 player doing an 80 percent combo and then the second player doing a 100 percent combo.

Pretty simple game but has quite some depth and btw has arguably the best tutorial ever that makes you learn to play not only unist but pretty much all 2D FGs at a serious level. The characters are so diverse and all unique you got pretty much all types of playstyles and the game is incredibly balanced.

When I first started playing I played around with a couple characters but never stuck with one or got too advanced. I was wondering if there is a list that gives a quick explanation of how each character plays so I can find a character to focus on.

For anyone who doesn't have it for some reason and doesn't want to restart their computer: you can right-click UNIST in your Steam library, click Properties, go to the DLC tab and check/uncheck the soundtrack. Download should commence, if possible, and you'll find it in your UNIST game folder (Local Files tab, Browse Local Files).
